After a day spent working at home, I decided I needed some fresh air. I was feeling for something sweet (sugar……my drug of choice!) and since I don’t want to be tempted, I don’t buy anything like that. Well, most times I don’t. I have Dates, but didn’t feel for that. I had heard about a place in ‘town’ called Chelsea’s Cafe, which serves homemade Gelato.
Ah ha! I hatched a plan. Since I knew I was going to have extra calories, why not earn them? On went the exercise gear. The original idea I had had when I dreamed this idea up was to walk to town, buy the Gelato, then walk back, but I was engrossed in the work I was doing and it was getting dark so didn’t want to chance it, even though the island is safe.
Drove to the location, parked and popped inside quickly. With a small population, odds are that I would know the Attendant. Yup. Told him I was going to walk first then come back to buy some. I looked in the showcase before I left, to see what my sweet teeth would be treated to in a few minutes.
Walked by the museum and started going up the hill. Saw a policeman and asked him “is it safe to walk around here”, to which he promptly said “sure!” I pumped my arms and huffed my way up the hill, pausing to dodge the oncoming traffic which can’t see what’s on my side until it hits the brow of the hill. Yes, the streets are narrow. Did a circuitous route a few times, not enough time, but it was exercise nonetheless. Couldn’t wait to get my lips on the Gelato. And if you must know, lest you start judging 🙂 I had already decided to exercise with weights when I got back home to make up for the short spell.
It was everything you wanted in a Gelato. I opted for Guava and Chocolate with a squirt of Strawberry sauce on top. The taste was very rich and flavourful. Am sorry to say that I will be back, but hopefully not too often. Take a look at my scoops. Tempted?
My sweet teeth are always nagging me! hahaha
